The Barn Dance was held on Saturday evening 2nd February at Baxter Church when about sixty people had a superb evening of entertainment, stomping the night away to an excellent 'caller' for our dance routines. Pleased to see you all dressed up for the occasion, giving the event plenty of atmosphere!

And wasn't the food the most brilliant 'Black Country' grub. Only the real mccoy for these cowboys. I mean, I like 'Brains', but this was something else!! Even the veggies got plenty to keep them happy. I had seconds, but only to help Julian 'see them off' you understand, after all I've only got a small appetite, you ask Bob. Anyway, he had all the sausages, I believe - chairman's privilege he told me.

Special thanks to all the usual suspects for their sterling efforts. I noticed Andrew doing plenty and saying little.

Can't wait for the next event - keep 'em coming!!!!

A quiz evening was held at New Meeting Hall on Sunday 9th DECEMBER. This also doubled up as our regular pre-Christmas 'Card Exchange'. Millions of cards as usual, though many people think that in future a charity contribution might be more satisfying. We still had a raffle with a healthy charity profit though!!

The quiz event was highly entertaining and excellently organised and run by Cheryl and Julian. Our team crossed out so many right answers it was a shock that we came close to winning! Some intriguingly obscure questions too. I'm still not sure about the doll with the 'belly button', but clearly Cheryl was way off the mark. That doll's never had sex - her boyfriend's not equipped.

Ten out of ten to everybody who came, bringing such lovely food! Needless to say I was early in the queue and sank a plateful without it touching the sides.

Thanks to Wendy, yet again, for a super evening, but do you notice how keen everybody else is to assist! You lovely people - Merry Christmas to you all!
