 Our show for October 2009 is 

   'The Likes of Us'

by Sir Tim Rice & Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The show,written over 40 years ago, was the first collaboration by this team and through an initiative by NODA has been made available to amateur groups, prior to plans for a West End run.

The story focuses on the efforts of Dr. Barnardo to help underpriviledged children in the middle of the nineteenth century and the hope is that this release will help the Barnardo organisation both locally and nationally.

   24 hour 'Singathon'

We have now rearranged our charity 'Singathon' to take place at our regular venue of New Meeting Church Hall, Church Street, Kidderminster, starting at 10:00am on Saturday 27th June nad running till 10:00am Sunday 28th June. Please do your utmost to play a generous part in this event by giving as many hours as possible and of course getting some significant sponsorship to back your efforts! All proceeds will naturally go to Barnardo's.

Ask for details of the event plan because we will be going out and about the town throughout Saturday to increase our fund collection, probably in the Swan Centre, the Rowland Hill centre, on Weaver's Wharf and at the Town Hall. So lets give this all we've got so that we can make everybody in Wyre Forest aware of our plans to perform, 'The Likes of Us' this coming October !!!

Thanks Cheryl for some absolutely hilarious workshops over the last few weeks, which were also exceptionally well attended, so much so that we nearly ran out of space for the A.G.M. a few weeks ago!!

But now its down to serious business with rehearsals to learn the challenging music of this show, so we must get onto the Webber wavelength and see what we can do.

All this of course in preparation for the principals auditions at New Meeting, starting at 7:30pm on Tuesday the 30th June. Audition parts will be defined very shortly so get yourselves prepared and have the courage to 'have a go' and grab a part - a fantastic opportunity for every member of the society!!
